I believe technology leads us to more isolation and freedom. We are so distracted with our phones, and focus on the world through our phones, that we forget to look up and pay atttention to the things happening around us now. We disconnect ourselves from the world, only to pay attention to our screens and the lives of others through our screens. We don’t pay attention to life and events around us, only on our phones. Although our phones are our main focus, it also helps with expressing ourselves through them, even if we can’t really express ourselves in real life. It helps us communicate with people through our screens, and so easily too, although speaking to someone face to face would be a bit more better, because human interaction is way better, at least in my opinion. But technology can be both good and bad, bad because it disconnects us from our surroundings and doesn’t really make us aware of what’s happening next to us, but also good because it helps us communicate faster and mor...

1. Montag lives in a society where its bad to have books and fir fighters burn books. It's similar to our society now, because no one really likes books anymore, no one take the time to read them, like physically read them, no one wants them anymore. You can tell it's a dystopia by people's actions, such as fire fighters starting fires, not putting them out, also jailed Clarisse's uncle for driving 40 miles an hour, just to observe life. 2. Clarisse is different because she observes everything very delicately and intensely, she notices the littlest details, others don't notice. No one cares or notices anything, meanwhile see observes and notices everything. 3.

1. The eyes of T.J. Eckleburg represent the eyes of god, which always see everything, even your wrong doings 2. The green light at the end of the dock represented Gatsby's hopes and dreams that were so close, yet so far, that seemed unattainable 3. The books in his library represent to the world that he's fake, or that he puts up a front 4. The weather in the book also shows how people change during hot weather, the worst comes out of them 5. The huge parties thrown also represent how people only care about the fun and themselves, but as soon as the parties over they leave behind a mess they create and expect others to clean it up

Gatsby's desire for success symbolizes the American Dream. Americans yearn for everything, but once given that everything, it is never enough. We find ourselves wanting more and more, never content with what we already have. In the  book,"The Great Gatsby," written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, it shows us how wealthy Mr. Gatsby is, and how hard he tried earning his wealth and power, indicating to us the similarities to many American's aspirations to be successful. Gatsby represents the desires that many Americans have and want to accomplish. In the 1920's American consumerism was hitting an all time high, leaving many in debt because of installment plans; this was the cause of the Great Depression which began in the late 1920's to early 1930's and didn't end until the early 40's.
