- Nick hadn't seen Gatsby for several weeks
- went over to one of his parties and Tom was there
- Gatsby got invited to a dinner party
- He met Tom again, was agressive
- Tom tagged along with Daisy to one of Gatsby's parties
- Gatsby introduced Daisy and Tom to the famous people
- Tom doesn't like Gatsby because Gatsby seems close to Daisy
- Gatsby is almost obsessed, trying to repeat the past
